Lieberman Cyber Security Bill – Why it is unnecessary and why it is an overreach of government

So Joseph Liebermann is concerned about cyber security. He thinks the government should get involved.

I disagree, here is why.

You as an internet user are more than aware of how important internet security is. You do not need a politician hyping up the issue, you know how bad it is.

You want to keep your bank details safe, you want to keep your identify safe, you want to keep your computer free from viruses.

And I bet you take the appropriate precautions to make your internet security as solid as possible.

And I bet you do not do it yourself, I bet you employ cyber security specialists to make sure your computer and your details are safe, in other words, you use anti-virus software and maybe more than one.

Businesses are also concerned about cyber security, especially if they are an online business. Can you imagine for example Amazon losing or having customer data stolen?

It would massively damage the image of the brand so you can bet Amazon are pretty hot on security.

But you already know all this.

Joseph Lieberman wants the government to get involved, so let me ask you a question, do you think government regulations will make you more secure?

Whatever your opinion, get in touch with your congressman to share your opinion, because this bill is in the balance, some big companies are folding, personally, I do not want the camel’s nose under the tent, if you know what I mean?
