Greek riot police used to evict the homeless from an autonomous shelter – Thessaloniki, Greece
22 people were arrested in a dawn raid on the Epiviosi (Survival) autonomous shelter which had been set up the previous month in an abandoned hospital in the centre of the northern port city of Thessaloniki. Just two weeks before Christmas the 36 residents have lost not just their home but most of their possessions as workmen sealed the building shut.
