Bing & Yahoo! Fund Google – But do they realise?

Yahoo! and Bing give search results through their search engine.

When a user clicks on a result in Yahoo! or Bing they are taken to a site which could be showing Google Sense.

Therefore Bing and Yahoo! and funding Google indirectly.

It is a crazy situation but do Bing and Yahoo! realise what they are doing?

If there is one thing Google does not need is it’s 2 biggest rivals increasing the number of eyeballs that see Google’s ads.

There are two ways Bing and Yahoo! could address this issue, they could block site showing Google ads. This will not happen because that would eliminate a large percentage of websites on the internet so that is not going to happen.

The other choice Bing and Yahoo! have is to start competing with Google for advertising space on publisher websites. Something which they do not currently do.

Not only would this increase the ad revenues of Yahoo! and Bing, it would also massively increase the publicity that they get from people seeing their ads on sites throughout the internet.

If Bing and Yahoo! were to launch a program like Adsense they would at a minimum increase their earnings by 28% and probably much more.

Google gets 28% of its revenue from Adsense but they also get massive revenues from search which is something that Bing and Yahoo! do not. So if Bing and Yahoo! were to implement an Adsense like program they would get greater than 28% of their revenue from it solely because they search revenues are so much smaller than Google.

The difference is is that there is no reason why Bing and Yahoo! could not match Google for revenue from an Adsense program within 5 years. Search is something else but for Adsense it is entirely reasonable

So in short, because Bing and Yahoo! are sending users to sites which include Google ads they are indirectly contributing to Google’s bottom line. They could limit the damage of this activity by offering a program similar to Adsense.
