Papendreou is starving the country. He is taking away the ability of the Greek people to tie themselves over in hard times.
Greece will default on it’s debt in some form, the sooner it is done the better. Sure times will be hard for 6-12months after the default but that is why it needs to be done now, while people still has some money to keep going during this period.
To delay the decision is going to make the whole situation much worse when it happens.
The default will not be easy, but hopefully it will force the politicians to implement the reforms that are required.
