Greek Politicians Have One Simple Duty – To Represent The People

It does not matter what the politicians or bankers believe is the “right” thing to do.

The polticians have open very simple job.

Their only responsibility is to represent the Greek people.

The sole duty of Greek politicians is to do what the electorate ask them to do. If they do not then it is a dictatorship.

The riots we see in Athens today are what happens when the politicians act against the interests of the people they are supposed to represent.

Greek politicians may have their own ideas about what they think is the right thing to do. That is beside the point.

Politicians are not elected to think. Politicians are elected to represent.

If Greek politicians cannot persuade the population of the “right” thing to do, it is their failure not the failure of the people.

The fact remains; the only job of a politician is to represent the wishes of the population.

The fact is the Greek politicians cannot persuade the Greeks to do what they want because they would create even more resistance to their plans.

It is plain to see that their plans act against the interest of the Greeks so they think it is better to keep Greeks ignorant of their plans rather than spelling it out.

Their arguments for suicidal austerity do not add up, they know Greeks will see through their arguments so they must resort to threatening the Greek people with words like “chaos” and “catastrophe”

They know their position does nbot stand up to logical anaylisis.

If the politicians are in any doubt as to what the people want they they must ask.

Greek politicians cannot do as international bankers tell them if the international bankers want them to do thing the people do not want.

Greek politicians need to remember they must do as the Greek people say not as the bankers say.

It does not matter if they agree with the people or not.

It is irrelevant what the politician “wants” to do. In a democracy they are obligated to carry out the wishes of the people.

If they do not then they are part of a dictatorship.
