Two sides to every headline

Greece could have cut public spending alone and progress would have been made, unfortunately they have raised taxes as well so the people no longer employed by the government cannot find work in the private sector

Really, Greece could blossoming now, why have the politicians gone against the one rule economists might be correct about and increase taxes in a recession? Has the IMF EU etc backed Greece into such a corner that Greece has nothing to negotiate with.

Are Greek politicians under so much pressure that they feel they have to sacrifice the country for the short term? Have they reached a point where the only thing they care about is avoiding default, to the detriment of the country?

Do the politicians in Greece worship the bankers so much they dare not drive a harder deal?

In my opinion Greece is on the right track if only the government had not raised taxes, things would actually be getting better.

On top of the increase in taxes the collection of taxes is climbing up the agenda. To confirm what the Greek government is asking for. They have completely mismanaged the economy for the last 10 and more years, they have squandered billions through corruption yet, given all this, the Greek government thinks it has the right to demand people pay more taxes!

Would you continue to give money to a junkie? Of course not, but the Greek government thinks the Greek people should give it more money despite their track record showing they are not qualified to look after the people’s money.

Really the crisis comes down to the government. It is the government that has the problem. It is the government that has mismanaged it’s finances not the people, yet the people are expected to bail out the government! I have said it before but I will say it again the government is out of control.

And this brings me onto another issue. The reason that the Greek government has voiced concerns about defaulting is that the banks will close in Greece. People won’t be able to get their money out. And not only in Greece but in France, Germany, the UK and the USA the banks will be in difficulty.

So the politicians are telling it to our face, we live in a fascist society where big business and government have merged together against the people. Really it couldn’t be more obvious if they took out an advert in Times Square.

Since when do the supposedly free people of a country have to endure hardship for the sake of saving private companies which are in bed with government. When did this become acceptable?

Make no mistake, the only reason that Greek has not defaulted and that Greeks are paying higher taxes is to save the financial system and to save the Euro. You would imagine that surely the politicians would be asking the question why is the financial system so fragile, especially when the bankers say it is so important to civilized life.

But no, you hear no one questioning the current financial system and why it is hurting independent people in the name of saving the system. Not once I have heard any dissent on BBC CNN Bloomberg Russia Today Al Jazeera with regards to how wise it is to grant a monopoly on the issuing of currency. You hear nothing.

Let me put it other way. If the government said to you that they were going to grant a monopoly to one company to produce cars in your country what would you think? The government will tell you that the monopoly will give the car industry stability, that this private company will be able to manipulate the car market for the benefit of everyone, would you believe them? Would you think that car production being in the hands of one company was a wise decision?

What if the company is mismanaged? What if the company abuses it’s position? What if the abuse and mismanagement put the future of the company in jeopardy and potentially leaves people without cars. Would you think it was a wise decision to have only one company in the country with the permission to build cars?

Of course it was not a wise idea to put all your eggs in one basket.

Yet that is what governments all over the world do with the central banking system and look at the result. These companies with a monopoly have started to threaten their customers, “bail us out or we will take the cars of the street”

Now I say again, do you think it is wise to grant one company a monopoly in such an important area of people’s lives?
