Maybe but there is not getting around the fact that Greece needs to EU money, or as the Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou has been quoted as saying in the article, government worker wages will not be paid and pensions will not be paid.
Given this is recognized as such a serious problem massive layoffs need to happen immediately. But is it legally possible and are the government workers concerned prepared to make the sacrifice for the benefit of their country?
Either way it looks like decision time is coming. Either way government wages are not going to be paid and pensions will probably be wiped out. The question is does the Greek government have the nerve to do it or will they default and simply put the blame at the feet of “Europe” and the banks?
