This talk of Greece being forced to go back to the Drachma is a fallacy
It’s very simple, whichever currency the government says can be used to pay taxes will be the one that people will use.
If the Greek government says we will accept the Euro then that is what people will use.
If the Greek government says they will only accept Drachmas as currency then that is what people will use.
To say Greece will be “forced” back to the Drachma is nonsense, and if the Greek government says it has no choice then it is simply not true.
In my opinion for Greece to move forward AND use the Drachma then the trade deficit needs to be balanced.
