Welsh Infrastructure Re-organisation After Independence

Proposal for the re-organsiation of Welsh infrastructure after independence

Wales has massive infrastructure which has been paid for by Welsh taxpayers but was sold of to the highest bidder starting with the Thatcher government with the Welsh people seeing relatively little return.

With Welsh independence the infrastructure that was previously invested by taxpayers should be distributed back to the Welsh people in a fair way.

For example electricity production.

Every Welsh person (ie born in Wales) should receive an equal share of the utility to do so as they please.

Whether they want to keep their shares to speculate and or collect dividends or to sell their shares that is entirely down to the individual.

10% of the new utility/business should remain in the possession of its current owner.

Welsh people over the age of 55 should receive a slightly larger proportion of the previously government owned business in order to cater for their retirement.

The staff servicing the Welsh infrastructure should be free to remain in their positions.

Roads, telephone, water utilities and so on shown be reorganised in the same way.

Suitable businesses should be brought in to supervise the restructuring with payment being made through the issuance of shares in the newly created companies. I propose a maximum of 1% of the shares in the nw company being used as payment.

Military installations and other central government functions of the English government should be closed.

Common land, ie land which belongs to the current government should also be reorganised in the same way as the utilities.

Current infrastructure which has is solely in private hands and was built and maintained solely with private financing will remain untouched.

Business and organisations who either received taxpayer funding to start or receive taxpayer funding on an ongoing basis will cease to receive further taxpayer funding.

Businesses which are connected to current state utilities such as roads and electricity and who received a percentage of taxpayer funding in order to start up should have that percentage funded by the taxpayer redistributed back to Welsh people in the same method listed above for utilities.

Any comments welcomed
