It’s a cliche, but buy Welsh. Either buy Welsh products or buy products from Welsh service providers and retailers, the most important thing is to keep as much money as possible inside Wales.
No one is saying you have to go without, most consumer products come from outside Wales, like I said before the main thing is to keep as much money inside Wales as possible
What does this mean?
You have a product you want to buy and it’s not Welsh, simply buy the product from a retailer in Wales, maybe that retailer is slightly more expensive than a retailer outside of Wales but judge for yourself, is it worth paying a bit extra to keep the money in the Welsh economy?
The ultimate goal is to reduce Wales’s trade deficit and ultimately to give Wales a trade surplus. When Wales gets to the point of surplus it will be in prime position to be independent financially and this is the most important thing. No country can be truly independent when it is dependent on cash from outside of the country. Those who give you cash can dictate terms.
Okay, so buying from Welsh companies helps the trade account but what does it mean for me?
To state the obvious, more money in Wales means people in Wales are richer. The more money there is in Wales there more money there is for people and businesses to spend.
People being able to buy more means a higher quality of life, you can get the things you want and like.
For businesses it means more money to invest and that ultimately means more success and more jobs in the Welsh economy.
Like I said, buying Welsh does not mean having to go without, it just means making that little more effort to find out Welsh companies who have what you want. The more money there is Wales the more money there is for me and you, go the extra yard, do your bit to make Wales independent, make that little bit of extra effort and buy from Welsh companies, even if you have to pay a bit more, what goes around comes around.
It is something you can do for Welsh independence and there is nothing the politicians can do to stop you!
Also support Welsh sportsmen and women. For example Wales has a leading rider in the World Superbike Championship, Chaz Davies. His sponsors and largely based in Italy but he also has sponsors who have a presence in the UK.
