News Cymru

Two sides to every headline

I have said before how Venizelos the Greek finance minister is living is his own fantasy land and today Athens News has a another article which shows the condition is getting worse.

Venizelos, the incompetence and doublethink of Greek politicians is out of hand

In a perfect of example of George Orwell’s DoubleThink Venizelos is quoted as saying

Venizelos said Greeks should unite behind the austerity plan to secure a stronger bargaining position with creditors.

So let me get this straight. By the Greeks saying that they will lie down to the demands of the international banking cartel, this actually strengthens the position of Greece with the international bankers? Correct me if I am wrong but that is what I understood.

I think Venizelos must have had to think long and hard to give a statement that so exemplifies DoubleThink. I just hope it is not contagious although I think Papandreou is also suffering from the same condition.

But Venizelos was not finished. Venizelos was really getting into the role of being a member of the ‘inner party’ and it’s DoubleThink policy. This is another peach that he came out with in the same article.

Evangelos Venizelos said world financial markets were using Greece as an excuse for an attack on the euro and that whatever Athens did, markets would never be satisfied.

He promised that Greece would stick rigorously to its reform and revenue targets to secure continued EU/IMF funding.

“Everybody knows that Greece is not the problem. Greece is the excuse for an attack on the euro,” Venizelos told a news conference on his return from a Eurogroup finance ministers’ meeting in Brussels.

Excellent. Orwell would be proud. Venizelos is taking DoubleThink into new areas and is using the tactic widely.

In the statement Venizelos concedes that the “world financial markets” (international banking cartel) is attacking Greece. He acknowledges that they are targeting Europe, the Euro indirectly through Greece. He acknowledges that Greece cannot win the game if Greece plays by their rules.

Yet at the same time he is stating that Greece should play by the rules of the international banking cartel if Greece is to have a sound future.

The contradictions coming from Venizelos smacks to me of someone who knows the truth of the situation but is having extreme problems articulating it in a way that sounds positive. He has to acknowledge the truth as circulated by analysts and economists but at the same time he has to justify the fruitless, farcical and cruel austerity measures in order for the measures to be accepted by parliament and in order for the measures to appear as if they are a democractic decision to the international community as opposed to the fascist takeover of Greece which is what they actually are.

Venizelos knowing the actual facts but having to make statements which portray the opposite of what he knows is obviously tying him in knots. Maybe he hasn’t got DoubleThink down to such a high standard after all.

The fact the manager in the international banking cartel in Germany has now come out and said a default is a good idea just makes Papandreou and Venizelos look not only absurd but also as traitors. As the internatinal consensus is that a default is likely the austerity measures look more and more like the theft that they are. Greece is going to be classed as a country that has defaulted on it’s debts but gets absolutlely no benefits that a default would bring.

A debt would bring much lower interest payments and a massive reduction in its debts. But because Greece has massively increased in debts to the international banking cartel or the IMF, a default at best now, will just take Greece back to where it was at the start except the taxes in Greece are through the roof and unemployment is ballooning.

To give an example of the treason being carried out by the complicit Greek politicians there is now a flat out bail out tax on businesses in Greece of 3% on profits. And on top of that, to “solve” the extremely high unemployment rate in the country the government has decided that the best answer is to increase the minimum wage.

How the minimum wage kills jobs

The government is constantly banging on about the black economy. These people who are employed waiting tables in Greece. These people that are employed filling cars with gas in Greece. There is now way these businesses can afford to pay all the taxes that comes with employing these people. What does the government want? To put all these people out of work? And then what? Pay them social security? Or would the government prefer they turned to crime?

The stupidity of government is really starting to get on the tits of the Greek people.

And in case Papandreou(Sociologist) and his padre Venizelos (Lawyer) didn’t understand why the minimum wage is a killer of jobs (At the end of the day, neither are qualified in economics) here is another dose of common sense.

When the Greek people are dealing with incompetence and/or treasoness acts of this magnitude by the claimed representatives of the people I think people are well within their rights to voice this disillusionement outside the normal channels, especially if the normal channels like elections, are closed.
