Very close to call. Both teams are very similar.
The Giants and the Patriots both have good passing games. Maybe the Patriots have the edge.
Defensively. The Giants are far superior. The NFC have a much higher standard of offense than the AFC.
The Giants have already beaten the Patriots this season and the Giants are much stronger since that meeting. To use a cliché, the Giants are peaking at jus the right time.
Although the Giants had a tough games against the 49ers you have to say it was a controlled performance which should not have taken much out of the team emotionally.
The Giants should be mentally fresh going to Lucas Oil stadium although the Patriots have also had a reasonable easy run in.
The Superbowl is indoors. Both teams are used to playing in similar conditions so I do not think an indoor game is going to benefit one team over another.
The Giants running game, so says NFL32 on ESPN, is getting stronger. This will be very handy for an indoor game. With regards to the Patriots. I do not recall being impressed by their running game so the Giants should have the edge.
Is it going to be a close game?
Difficult to say, personally I do not believe it will be. I think there will be at least a touchdown between the teams and a 14-point difference is easily plausible.
Will it be a high scoring game?
I would say the losing team is going to score at least 20 points. It would be hard to imagine either teams coring less than 20 points indoors. So yes, a high scoring Superbowl is on the cards. I would predict around 52 total points scored.
MVP. Has the MVP ever come from the losing team? I think Brady will be the MVP. Hee will be the stand out performer on his side whereas the Giants offense will be more balanced although still passing biased.
Who will win? I go for the NY Giants for all of the above reasons. But saying that the Giants have surprised me against the Packers and against the 49ers, will they surprise me again?
How many touchdowns. I would say a minimum of 5.
