How Democratic Governments Will Enslave Us All & Why We Will Welcome It

Governments make promises to do this or that. Except they are not the ones that have to pay for these promises.

The government may say “free school lunches” but we all know nothing is free. Free healthcare, free education as so on. The same deal.

The government can even say we are going to invest in this or that. For example new schools or new hospitals and they say it as if it were free. Which of course it is not.

So governments can get easy brownie points by promising to the world and unfortunately most people think “wow”, whichever government is going to spend the most to build “free” stuff must be the best. The government that is going to do the most free stuff must be the “”nicest” or most “caring” government”.

So the government that promises the most gets into power and then what?

The citizens at some point are going to have start paying for the “free” things that the government is providing. When the payments kick in the government has left power.

These taxes to pay for these free things will come in a variety of forms. Some you will see, like VAT increases or reduction in tax-free allowances.

Pensions are another target governments like to go after.

Taxes you dont see are inflation, prices of fuel and food, cars and appliances start increasing because your labour no longer buys as much as it used to.

Why does the government need to raise taxes to pay for the “free” stuff?

Because all western governments already spend more than they take-in in taxes. Before they even start building and providing extra “free” things.

This means that the government will have to take out loans to pay for the “free” things.

But the government doesn’t have to pay the loans back, the people of the country do.

Which is how we get to governments enslaving us. Governments are borrowing billions of Pounds or Euros or Dollars in our name because this is what gets them elected.

He who promises the most and delivers, is the government that gets the people of a country into greater debt and forces the citizens of a country to pay back their loans.

And why do people welcome it?

Because we believe a government that will spend the most money are the “nicest” and most “caring” when in fact the opposite is the case.

The worst type of government is the one who promises the world and then actually delivers. Tony Blair/Gordon Brown for example.

Better for a government to promise the world and not deliver, at least it has not cost you or your children any money.

The other type of government is the one that promises the world and then actually takes things away from you. Like the Papandreou/Venizelos regime in Greece for example.

So in short people who vote for a government because of the things they say they will do are actually enslaving themselves to a future of servicing interest on the loans of the government.

Until people realise the politicians have nothing to lose by promising the world, politicians have no interest in being honest. They are no long gone before questions have to be answered.

When things do finally hit the fan, the politicians who gained the power are long gone and it is the voters left to pick up the pieces. Again, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown for example.

Until people realise that a big government is simply taking a bigger piece of your and your children’s labour and spending it on things that will get them power, until people realise the only government worth voting for is the one that wants to cuts taxes and government, until people realise this, governments will enslave us all and we will welcome it.
