A political party in Greece has launched a campaign to petition the government to launch an investigation into who agreed the terms for the memorandum.
The political party involved is Independent Greeks and in case they hadn’t noticed, the Greek parliament voted on the terms of the memorandum on live TV.
They want to know who negotiated the terms of the bail out? Okay, I suppose it would be good to know who was advising Papandreou but with regards to the politicians that agreed to the terms, that is already in the public domain I am not sure what they are trying to achieve here, it seems a childish effort at best.
The efforts of the Independent Greek could surely be used to better effect elsewhere.
Perhaps the story is being misreported. The key points here are who were advising PASOK with regards to the terms of the bailout and who advised the PASOK party that the terms of the bailout were a good thing for Greece.
The positions of the politicians are already known, the real question is who were advising them.
