Greece – 1 Simple Fact That Makes It A Tyrannical Dictatorship

The politicians no longer represent the wishes of the electorate. That is the one simple fact.

It is that simple.

When politicians start vote and acting in ways that is specifically against the wishes of the electorate then that is a tyrannical dictatorship. You could argue that Greece has an oligarchical government, I use the word dictatorship as it has more resonance with the current situation.

The fact that the prime minister is unelected because the things he wants to do are too unpopular for the prime minister to be an elected representative of the people is the cherry on the cake.

Why do the Greek people not agree with the actions of their politicians?

Maybe it is because it is the fault of the politicians for not explaining their motives more clearly.

Or maybe it is that the politicians cannot explain the motive more clearly because they fear the resistance will be even greater.

Whatever the case may be, it does not change the fundamental fact that democracy is not functioning in Greece at the moment.

The one hope the Greek people have are the promise of democratic elections. It remains to be seen whether these elections will happen and until they do there is no democracy in Greece.

Do the ruling elite in Greece even care about reforms?

There actions from 2008 until 2012 says no.

The current recession is serving one purpose and one purpose only, and that is to suck the wealth out of the country, the austerity measures main achievement has been to speed up this process.

And it is not just me saying this. The unelected Greek prime minister has stated this is what he believes is the right course of action.

Only an unelected prime minister could say something so unpopular and still remain in power.
