Mainstream media in the states make most of their money from advertising.
Ron Paul supporters clicking on ads featuring Ron Paul will show newspapers, bloggers and television stations that there is money writing about Ron Paul
When bloggers and newspapers realise there is real money in writing about Ron Paul hopefully there will be more coverage of him in the mainstream media.
On a different note, I have just finished watching Charlie Rose on Bloomberg. The discussion was about the Republican debate in New Hampshire last night.
From what I understood it was basically an hour-long propaganda effort to convince people that Romney and Perry were the only contenders.
My question is, on what basis are Romney and Perry front-runners, how has the mainstream media come to this conclusion?
Looking at straw polls there is no logical reason for Perry and Romney to be favourites.
Fundraising figures for July 2011 support Romney but Perry has no figures whatsoever.
So why exactly are the mainstream media classing them as front-runners when there does not appear to be any empirical evidence to support this assertion.
Could it be that the mainstream media is more focussed on manipulating the minds of Americans than they are at reporting the facts?
I would love to hear your opinion.
